The Anthology of a Shaman was my journey of becoming a shaman.
It started initially as a Tetralogy- think of it as the spiritual Undergraduate Degree.
The completion of the full anthology of the seven books became the Board Certification . The Board is a Spiritual Council that advises me.
Follow-up books are under the spin-off titled “Quests of a Shaman”- consultancies exploring different facets of that journey. This is an unfolding chapter- books will be added as and when they are completed and published.
We go where the inspiration takes us. The theme remains the same- exploring reality with a mythological, spiritual, and philosophical lens. With science too, where it is not an impediment, with its Iain McGilchrist’s left hemisphere logic, analysis and categorisation. In that sense, the left hemisphere is merely an emissary. We also embrace the master, the right hemisphere- with context, relationship, and meaning.
I am a full-time gobela, a mentor to several aspiring shamans. I write in my spare time. Anthology of a Shaman is an anthology tracing the arc in the life of a shaman- right through from initiation, to philosophy, embodiment, and the psychology of the transformation.
Both the Anthology of a Shaman and its spin-off Quests of a Shaman are narrated through a singular and unlikely lens, that of a medical doctor by training, omniest by conviction, and a shaman by calling. The reluctant cartographer of the unseen, is tasked with mapping the liminal terrain, but without the goddess Hecate to hold the torch, like she did with Demeter in the search for Persephone. So, a lot of the heavy lifting is done through examining lived experience, mythology, and direct transmission from the spiritual realms.
I am not motivated by sales, buy a hard copy and share it with friends and family. But buying the ebook saves trees from being felled to print your copy. Either way, we game the Kali Yuga system. The restricted availability is purely for version control- quality control.
In which "We Initiate". A semi-biographical body of work.
It is the culmination of over forty years of life filled with inflated sense of self, stubbornness, self-assurance, pride, debauchery, and shortsightedness (both literal and metaphorical).
It marks the beginning of another calling, to heal broken hearts, and broken relationships.
All punctuated by a near-death experience in between.
Ultimately, a redemption arc.

In which "We Ponder". Joseph Campbell once said, "The psychotic drowns in the same waters in which the mystic swims with delight."
Principia explores the philosophical and psychological musings of a shaman in the age of Al.
Or is a compilation of the incoherent raving of a post-psychotic maniac.
Or both.
Or neither.
It is Schrödinger's cat, until you read it, and collapse the superposition of states.

In which "We Align Chakras". The sustainer is seized with an existential crisis by the seaside. Feuding offspring of rival baby-mamas of Kashyapa are wrestling power from each other, with one clan facing extinction, while the other wants power.
Will they cooperate and get the "nectar of immortality"?
Divinity, priesthood, royalty and humanity among other beings struggle with existence, poison, seduction, greed, and vanity.
Was it all an entertaining ancient telenovela, or a map about chakras and Jungian psychology hidden in plain sight? Millenia before Jung.
Lets find out and see.

In which "We De-mystify Yoga". True to the established tradition in the “Anthology of a Shaman” series, we use my lived experience, and direct transmissions (this time aided along by Vishnu our usual suspect, Patanjali and a few others ) to de-mystify yoga in general, and then zone in on raja yoga in particular.
